Great success stories start with a clear, compelling vision that pulls
you forward, even on those days when you would rather sleep in . . .
or when taking action just feels too darn difficult.
But what exactly IS that vision?
Here are six steps to get your vision into focus...and into your
heart:
Vivid
Vision™ Step 1:
Clearly explain your "what." Your Vivid Vision MUST
clearly states WHAT you are motivated to achieve. So instead of the
fluffy "I want to make a difference" statement, think in
terms of something definitive with a time frame attached to it.
President Kennedy's brilliant and bold vision was to put a man on
the moon "before this decade is out." Voiced in 1961, his
vision was achieved a full year earlier, in 1969.
If you're struggling with your vision, let me ask you this,
"What is it that you are absolutely, positively passionate about
achieving as if you're life depends on it and failure is not an
option?" As a success coach, I've learned you shouldn't think too
hard--the woman business owner's first thought is probably right on!
Vivid Vision Step 2:
Feel a passionate "why." To do its job of pulling you
forward your Vivid Vision must have a passionate "why"
behind it. Why is it so important to you? Without a compelling
"why" it's likely you won't stay motivated when the going
gets a bit tough.
Your "why" is strongest if it's linked to something in
your personal life that you value highly. For example, I thought my
Vivid Vision was to make a million dollars per year. Now I realize
that is my goal, not my Vivid Vision.
What I value most isn't money (although I am very good making it!)
I had been experiencing a disconnect between what I thought was the
Vivid Vision and what I valued most. Naturally, that disconnect
created a conflict of interest.
Now my Vivid Vision is perfectly aligned with my deepest values.
Since making this shift, the results have been amazing! My income as a
success coach is up by forty percent in less than one year.
Vivid
Vision Step 3:
Get a clear strategy. Think of your strategy as your overall approach
to fulfilling your Vivid Vision. Your strategy is not a detailed
action plan. It's a high level look at the basic direction of your
planning map.
It's in Step 3 where many a woman business owner lets her Vivid
Vision slip through her fingers. Please, don't make it complicated.
You won't know in advance if you are choosing the "right"
way. There's no right way; there is only a way. As a success coach, I
recommend that you choose two or three ways (strategies) to achieve
your Vivid Vision.
Vivid Vision Step 4:
Get into action. With your strategies clearly defined you're ready
to take action. Now, there will be days where your progress feels
puny, obstacles appear larger than life and you want to chuck the
whole thing. Don't. By staying focused with your Vivid Vision, you'll
be inspired to put one foot in front of the other.
Vivid Vision Step 5:
Let the Law of Attraction deliver the "how." Uh-oh...now we
get to the sticky part. This is the step where a woman business owner
wants to figure out how to make their Vivid Vision happen. Because she
doesn't know how it's going to work out, she gets totally stuck in her
tracks.
It's tempting, I admit, to want to plan the "how." My
success coaching request here is... don't. Every time you feel stuck
or confused, read your Vivid Vision™ out loud. Read your strategies
out loud. Then ask yourself, "What do I need to do to keep
moving?" Don't worry, if you're in action, so too, the Universe
will be in action on your behalf!
Vivid
Vision Step 6:
Create a vision board. My husband, Richard, and I plan on
purchasing a bigger piece of property to build a house and large horse
facilities. We've made an incredibly beautiful vision board that
represents everything we want, even down to the style of windows!
If I'm discouraged about finding the right piece of land, I study
our vision board (it's hanging right in front of my computer,) and
immediately I feel inspired that the right property is coming our way.
Plus, creating our vision board allows us to get very specific about
what we're seeking, so we are both in harmony with our vision.
(Clarity is an important component when co-creating marketing
strategies with someone!)
Use these six success-coaching tips as your Vivid Vision
checklist. Once you have All six steps clearly defined and written
down, you will enjoy having a vision that outlines your marketing
strategies and pulls you forward to success!
